Step 1 – Create a Company File Backup

This is how you can create a backup and save all the data for future purposes –

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Press the File tab.
  3. Choose the “Switch to Single-user Mode” option.
  4. Go back to the File tab.
  5. Point toward the Backup Company option.
  6. Choose to Create Local Backup.
  7. In the following prompt, click on Local Backup.
  8. Hit the Next button.
  9. You should now be in the Local Backup Only section.
  10. Tap on Browse.

Step 2 – Downgrade QuickBooks Desktop

Converting QuickBooks Desktop to an older version can be simplified if you use the QuickBooks License Manager. Follow the steps below to do so –

  1. Visit Intuit’s official website and purchase the version you wish to downgrade to.
  2. Once this is done, open QuickBooks
  3. Click on the Help tab.
  4. Tap on the Manage My License tab.
  5. Press the “Switch to” option and select the year version of QuickBooks.
  6. You must now enter your correct License Number and Product Number in the given field to authorize this action.

  8. Log in as the Administrator.

  10. Select the appropriate company file.
  11. Click on Continue.
  12. In the given field, you need to type Agree.
  13. Hit the Replace button.
  14. Finally, tap on “Yes, go ahead and replace the data.”
