  1. Open Internet Explorer and select Tools.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Then hit the Security tab to select Trusted Sites
  4. Click on the Sites
  5. In the Add this website to the zone box enter: *.intuit.com.
  6. Click to clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
  7. Select Close and then Ok.
Method 4: Update the Internet Settings
  1. Open Internet Explorer and on top right corner click on Tools.
  2. From the drop-down list select Internet Options.
  3. In the General tab, check mark Temporary Internet files, then select Delete.
  4. Next, select Connections tab and click on LAN Settings.
  5. Mark the checkbox next to Automatically Detect Settings.
  6. Make sure Proxy servers are blank, unless you use one.
  7. Click on OK
  8. On the Advanced tab, go about 3/4 of the way down the list.
  9. Make sure both SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 are marked.
  10. If marked, please clear the box next to Check for publisher’s certificate.
  11. On the same Advanced tab, scroll down towards the bottom and make sure:
  12. TLS 1.2 is checked.
  13. TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are not checked.
  14. If marked, clear the checkbox.
Method 5: Configure the firewall security settings

  1. Click on Employees in the QuickBooks Desktop and then select My Payroll Service.
  2. Choose Manage Service Key.
  3. From the QuickBooks Service Keys window, select Edit on your payroll service that is listed.
  4. Select Edit, and take note of the service key.
  5. Click on Add and enter the Service Key in the Field provided.
  6. Select Next and then Finish.
  7. When the Payroll Update message appears, select OK.
  8. Verify the Service Status shows Active and then click on OK.
